Steady State Visual Evoked Potential Based Computer Gaming - The Maze
نویسندگان
چکیده
We introduce a game, called “The Maze”, as a brain-computer interface (BCI) application in which an avatar is navigated through amaze by analyzing the player’s steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP) responses recorded with electroencephalography (EEG). The same computer screen is used for displaying the game environment and for the visual stimulation. The algorithms for EEG data processing and SSVEP detection are discussed in depth. We propose the system parameter values, which provide an acceptable trade-off between the game control accuracy and interactivity.

Brain Computer Interface based on the Steady-State VEP for Immersive Gaming Control
This paper presents an implementation of an effective EEG-based Brain Computer Interface design as the control mechanism for an immersive 3-D game. The BCI is based on the application of the steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP) generated in response to phase-reversing checkerboard patterns. Real-time game control and signal processing is facilitated by a combined graphics/DSP/network co...
متن کاملSteady State Visual Evoked Potential (SSVEP) - based Brain Spelling System with Synchronous and Asynchronous Typing Modes
The paper presents an EEG-based wireless brain-computer interface (BCI) with which subjects can mindspell text on a computer screen. The application is based on detecting steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEP) in EEG signals recorded on the scalp of the subject. The performance of the BCI is compared for two different classification paradigms: synchronous and asynchronous modes.

Enhancement of SSVEP-based BCI system via SSAEP during Eye Fatigue Period
This paper proposes the auditory evoked potential (SSAEP) stimulation technique as well as its detection algorithm to replace the steady state visual evoked potential (SSVEP)-based brain-computer interface (BCI) system during the visual fatigue period. Optimal speaker position for two commands SSAEP-based BCI system and the possible electrode positions are investigated. With the proposed system...
متن کاملThe Role of Visual Noise in Influencing Mental Load and Fatigue in a Steady-State Motion Visual Evoked Potential-Based Brain-Computer Interface
As a spatial selective attention-based brain-computer interface (BCI) paradigm, steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP) BCI has the advantages of high information transfer rate, high tolerance to artifacts, and robust performance across users. However, its benefits come at the cost of mental load and fatigue occurring in the concentration on the visual stimuli. Noise, as a ubiquitous rando...
